Grinding Sludge Briquetting
By briquetting grinding sludge, over 90% of the contained oils and water can be pressed out. The pressed-out cooling and cutting oils can be reused after filtration, leading to significant cost savings. Additionally, disposal costs are eliminated, and the briquettes can be sold. These savings and revenues ensure that the investment in an ATM briquetting press is recouped within a few months.
Risk Materials such as Magnesium Chips, Titanium Chips, …
Stored titanium and magnesium chips are highly flammable and therefore pose a significant fire risk. These materials are increasingly used as lightweight materials in automotive manufacturing. By pressing them with an ATM briquetting press, these risks are minimized.
Special Alloys
Pressing special alloys before the melting process is becoming increasingly important. Our briquetting presses ArnoBrik 5 and 7 have proven themselves through their high specific pressing pressure and flexible process control. These presses enable effective processing and compaction of special alloys, facilitating their recycling.
Melting Behavior of Aluminum
In collaboration with the Montanuniversität Leoben, studies were conducted on the burnout behavior of chips and briquettes during the melting process of secondary raw materials. The results show that aluminum briquettes allow for a higher throughput in the melting process. This leads to increased recycling efficiency and improves the economics of aluminum recovery.
Aluminum Dross
During the production and refining of aluminum, the so-called dross is produced, which contains, in addition to aluminum and aluminum oxide, various combustion products and detached residues of refractory lining. The recoverable components of this dross are processed and pressed using ATM’s specialized matrix geometries. This enables efficient recovery and recycling of aluminum.
