Briquetting

A process in which the source material is compressed with the force of a hydraulic cylinder in a closed chamber. Depending on the material properties the density can be increased by a factor of up to 10. The briquetting of material is possible for a wide range of materials from metal dust or powder over sludge to classical applications like turnings and swarf. Briquetting decreases the volume, reduces the amount of humidity of the material, reduces transport and disposing costs, minimizes the hazard of explosion or even could transform waste to a resource.
