With ARNO® Handle, ATM Recyclingsystems links individual processing technologies into one continuous, process-reliable overall system. Developed specifically for metal recycling, the solutions move chips, scrap, briquettes and highly compacted metal bales reliably through the entire process – from material feeding and precisely controlled dosing to automated handling after the press. Mechanics, sensors and controls are matched so that shredders, presses, shears, breakers, screening and sorting technology work together efficiently.
Your Advantages at a Glance
Maximum plant availability
Robust, application-specific components reduce unplanned stoppages caused by damaged belts, deformed plates or overloaded chains.
Lower total cost of ownership
Long service life, low maintenance and demand-based drive concepts reduce costs over the entire life cycle.
Stable throughput
Buffering, sensors, dosing and machine control keep the material flow even and prevent overloads.
Consistent product quality
Reproducible feeding improves bale density, briquette quality and tool life.
Automatic discharge, palletising, strapping and filling keep operators away from hazardous areas.
Dust, small parts and emulsions stay in the system – fewer emissions and less material loss.
Conveyors, bunkers, chutes, diverters and compact screw systems are adapted to existing plants and available space.
ATM takes responsibility for the material flow – from feeding and processing to the finished bale or briquette.
Dosing unit
The powerful ATM dosing unit ensures a controlled, uniform feed of metal chips – crucial for an efficient briquetting process. A flap receives the material, the connected weighing system determines the weight, and only once the target weight is reached does the flap open and release the material into the press chamber. The precise dosing increases process stability and improves the quality of the finished briquette.
Weighing screw
The ATM weighing screw continuously measures material throughput via an integrated weighing unit and doses the material accordingly with precision. Compared to conveyor belt solutions with a separate belt scale, it requires significantly less space. The automatic weight measurement prevents over- or under-dosing and regulates the material flow in real time.
Screw conveyor
ATM screw conveyors are an indispensable means of transport in metal recycling and impress with their compact, enclosed design for continuous material transport. Compared to conveyor belts or chain conveyors, they require significantly less space. The enclosed design also reduces dust and material loss – a clear advantage especially with fine material.
Double screw conveyor
Double screw conveyors are used where high throughput or a particularly uniform, trouble-free material flow is required. Two parallel screw shafts convey larger volume flows, and interlocking or synchronized screw flights reduce clogging – a particular advantage with damp chips. The precise speed control ensures uniform dosing, for example when feeding presses or sorting systems.
Briquette conveyor
The ATM briquette conveyor consists of robust steel plates instead of a fabric or rubber belt, making it particularly suitable for large, heavy or sharp-edged scrap pieces. The enclosed design prevents material loss – even small metal parts are reliably transported.
Chip conveyor
The ATM chip conveyor impresses with its particularly robust construction and high load capacity, specially designed for the transport of metal chips. The solid steel plates enable the transport of even large quantities of sharp-edged chips, and the enclosed design ensures safe transport without material loss and a clean working environment.
Conveyor belt
ATM conveyor belts are indispensable in metal recycling for the fast, efficient and continuous transport of metal chips, scrap parts or shredded recycling material. Thanks to various lengths, widths and versions, they can be easily integrated into existing systems and are suitable for almost any metal material – from fine chips to large-volume parts.
Centrifuge
The centrifuge reliably separates oil and coolant from the metal chips before they are further processed. Depending on purity, the recovered oil can be reused, and the chips become drier and thus more valuable for briquetting and resale.
Magnetic drum and vibratory chute
The magnetic drum reliably separates ferromagnetic components from the material stream, and the downstream vibratory chute ensures a uniform, dosed transfer of the material to the next system component. Both elements can be flexibly integrated into the ARNO® Handle material flow concept.
The link in the recycling process
Depending on material, throughput, plant layout and level of automation, ARNO® Handle is built modularly from three matched stages.
Conveying & buffering
Lifting and tipping devices, screw conveyors, rubber-belt, hinged-plate and chain conveyors, roller tables and bunkers take up the material, bridge heights and distances and smooth out material peaks.
Dosing & weighing
Container scales, tipping-trough scales, dosing flaps and weighing screws record batches precisely and feed them evenly to the baling or briquetting press.
Handling after the press
Briquette conveyors, bale chutes, push-off tables, palletising, strapping and big-bag stations take over the finished product right through to the shipping unit.
The right conveyor for every load
From fine chips to highly compacted bales – every design is matched to its material and load.
Rubber-belt conveyor
For chips, regrind, grinding sludge and light fractions: Chevron belt with 8 mm cover, cut- and puncture-resistant, optionally oil- and emulsion-resistant. Cleats and corrugated sidewalls prevent spillage.
Hinged-plate conveyor
For punching waste, sheet parts, sharp-edged scrap and freshly pressed briquettes. Available as heavy- or ultra-heavy-duty system with wear-steel plates, heavy-duty chains and damped feed zones.
Chain & roller conveyors
For rails, profiles and heavy scrap: link and bush chains with steel drivers, heavy-duty roller tables with cycle-controlled feed into breaker or shear.
Bunker & twin screw
Up to 10 m³ buffer volume: twin screw conveyors increase volume flow, reduce blockages and homogenise batches – the basis for mixed briquetting.
Tyre-wire bunker
Takes up elastic, heavily tangled wire from tyre recycling, breaks up material bridges, separates the wire and feeds it evenly dosed to the press.
Bale chute
Moves heavy metal bales purely mechanically from the press to the container – no motor, gearbox, chain or sensors, so no drive energy and no drive maintenance.
Briquetting line for metal chips
From the chip container to the finished briquette – ARNO® Handle connects all process steps into one continuous line.
Delivery
Chips arrive in containers and are fed via a lifting and tipping device.
Bunker
The twin screw conveyor buffers the chips and discharges them evenly.
Weighing screw
Conveys, weighs and doses in one component – gravimetrically precise.
ARNO® Brik
The briquetting press compacts the chips into dimensionally stable briquettes.
Briquette conveyor
The hinged-plate conveyor carries off the freshly pressed briquettes.
Big-bag station
Up to four big bags are filled automatically and removed by forklift.
Designed for metal recycling, not adapted to it
Many conveying systems come from intralogistics or bulk handling and are adapted to metal afterwards. ARNO® Handle starts from the real recycling process.
