Spare & wear parts

Original parts for maximum performance, availability and cost-effectiveness.

High press forces, abrasive materials, vibration, dust and extreme load cycles act on recycling and briquetting plants. That's why the purchase price of a spare or wear part alone doesn't determine cost-effectiveness — what matters is its contribution to service life, process stability and the availability of the entire plant.

Four Pillars

ATM Expertise From a Single Source

In-House Manufacturing

ATM controls material selection, turning, milling, drilling, honing and grinding, as well as application-specific heat treatment and surface coating. Modern measurement methods verify tight tolerances and material structure. Findings from engineering, service and the test center flow directly back into manufacturing. This independence enables flexible scheduling, batch sizes and special designs.

Fast-Response Central Warehouse

All common spare and wear part items are stocked in depth. In the event of a fault, parts can be delivered immediately instead of only then starting procurement or manufacturing. For planned changeovers, parts are ready on the agreed date; customer-specific items can be stocked on call by arrangement, and special parts can be manufactured on a priority basis in an emergency. ATM handles shipping and, on request, installation as well.

Ongoing Technological Development

Materials, geometries, coatings and tolerances are continuously optimized. Findings from the field and from the ATM Test & Competence Center feed directly into standard and special parts.

Process Optimization

ATM views the part, machine and application as an overall system. Together with the customer, process settings and wear mechanisms are analyzed to increase service life in a plannable way. With joint process development, specific service-life commitments are possible.

Quality Control

Small Details in Manufacturing, Big Impact in Operation

  • Every wear plate is checked for flatness and dimensional accuracy before shipment.
  • Heat treatment and hardness are documented per batch and verified by spot checks.
  • Critical dimensions such as hole patterns and fits are approved with calipers and gauges before a part leaves the plant.

Risk With Non-Original Parts: Deviating tolerances, unknown material grades or missing heat treatment can damage adjacent components, significantly shorten service life and jeopardize the manufacturer's warranty in the event of damage.

System Advantage

Original Wear Parts: The System Advantage Is What Counts

Imitation parts are usually based only on visible geometries. ATM original parts, by contrast, are based on the original design data, knowledge of loads and interactions within the plant, and the current state of development. This protects adjacent components, preserves machine performance and safeguards the manufacturer's warranty. Technical support doesn't end at the sale: on request, ATM also assists with installation, calibration and optimal machine setup.

ATM quality seal

Every ATM original part stands for verified material quality, documented manufacturing processes and the full technical backing of the plant's own manufacturer.

Service Life Versus Wear Part Costs

The cheapest part is rarely the most economical solution. What matters is cost per ton processed: purchase price, service life achieved, changeover effort, downtime costs, energy demand, product quality and potential consequential damage. An optimally matched ATM original part may cost more to purchase, but it lowers total operating costs through longer, plannable service life, stable machine performance and fewer unplanned failures. The result is higher productivity over the plant's entire lifecycle.

Briquetting Tools

Matched to the Process

ATM manufactures briquetting tools in-house and matches them precisely to the material being processed, press pressure, material friction, tool hardness and ambient conditions. Metal swarf, grinding sludge and dust place different demands on geometry, hardness and surface finish — that's why ATM uses the right tool type for each application instead of one standard geometry for everything. New materials, optimized geometries and coatings are tested under real conditions at the Test & Competence Center; every tool is measured and documented. Field data continuously feeds back into engineering as well as standard and special manufacturing. This makes changeover intervals plannable, reduces the risk of breakage and failure, and permanently secures throughput, briquette density and energy efficiency.

Blades for Scrap Shears and Shredders

Material and Geometry Precisely Matched

ATM blades are made from high-quality materials selected for the material being cut and the stresses involved. Cutting-edge geometry, hardness and toughness are matched to the respective material. New materials and processing methods are continuously incorporated into standard manufacturing. Combined with joint process development, blade changes become plannable and the achievable throughput per service life is optimized.

Wear Plates & Hardox® Expertise

Official Hardox® Wear Plate Partner

As an official Hardox® Wear Plate Partner, ATM processes high-strength Hardox® steels for particularly stressed areas in recycling and briquetting plants. Depending on the application, Hardox® 450 and Hardox® 500, among others, are used. Precisely aligned plates enable low-stress assembly; critical fasteners such as welded-on bolts are manufactured using tested and documented processes. The combination of certified material, professional processing, OEM installation and subsequent fine-tuning of the machine creates the basis for long service life, robustness and reliable continuous operation.

Hydraulics, Sensors and Measurement Technology

For Reliable Press Cycles

For hydraulic components, ATM relies on market-leading premium suppliers and specifically optimizes selected parts for harsh metal recycling operation. Special seals, robust position-measuring systems and application-specific modifications withstand pressure spikes, temperature, dust, vibration and shock loads. Original components are also precisely matched to the control system and machine logic — for precise signals, reliable press cycles and maximum protection of the mechanical structure.

Control Technology & Obsolescence Management

PLC Expertise From a Single Source

ATM develops PLC programs in-house and has experience with systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi. A broad component inventory enables fast responses to electronic faults. ATM also stocks selected, already discontinued control components to keep older plants running for as long as possible. Service contracts support proactive lifecycle management; tailored retrofits bring existing plants up to a modern, long-term available control and software standard in good time.

Material Handling

Original Parts for Robust Material Handling

Conveying technology, chutes, chains, belts, bearings and drives are directly responsible for material flow and thus for the availability of the entire line. ATM matches these components, together with specialized technology partners, to abrasive materials, vibration and continuous multi-shift operation. High-strength Hardox® components protect particularly stressed transfer and guide areas. Original parts prevent process bottlenecks, blockages and premature wear, and maintain the defined peak performance of the overall plant.
