ATM Used Machinery
ARNO® Buying and Selling With Manufacturer Expertise.
We buy, trade in, recondition and certify in-house — a used machine becomes a production machine again, with a warranty instead of “bought as seen”.
Our Full Range
All Used Machines at a Glance
You can find our complete, continuously updated range of inspected ARNO®-used machines on Maschinensucher.at — including photos, technical details and direct inquiry.
Overview
ATM is not a machinery dealer, but a machine builder that also trades in used equipment. That’s exactly where the difference comes from: purchasing, trade-ins, sourcing and consignment sales all run through the same team and the same workshop in Fohnsdorf — with the same depth of reconditioning as a new ATM plant.
Benefits
Why Used Machines From ATM?
Reconditioned and certified recycling plants at a fair price — with a manufacturer’s depth of engineering instead of a dealer’s reach.
Single Source
Hydraulics, mechanics, electrics and welding technology in-house — one point of contact, one responsibility.
Certified Instead of “As Seen”
We only certify a machine once it meets all quality and safety standards — guaranteed.
Full Reconditioning Depth
Base structure inspected, hydraulics overhauled, wear parts replaced as defined — not just cleaned.
Smart Recycling Systems
Remote monitoring, live diagnostics and predictive maintenance via app for higher availability.
3 Freely Selectable Levels
From “as inspected” to a complete overhaul to ATM standard — you decide how much reconditioning you buy.
Up to 78% Less CO₂
The base structure is retained, only wear parts and technology are renewed — noticeably less CO₂ than a new build.
Up to 50% Less Expensive
Comparable productivity, precision and service life to a new plant — significantly less expensive to invest in.
Industry 4.0 Retrofittable
IoT gateway and sensors available on request — the existing plant runs in the same portal as a new one.
Portfolio
Four Ways We Work With Used Machines
From purchasing in exchange for a new plant to selling on a commission basis — all four paths run through the same team and the same workshop.
Purchase in Exchange
You invest in a new ATM plant, and your existing machine is credited against the price of the new one.
- Sale price reduces the new-machine price
- Dismantling and transport by ATM
- One contract, one point of contact
Purchase Without Exchange
ATM also buys without a new-machine deal. ATM-made machines are preferred, third-party makes on a case-by-case basis.
- ATM machines preferred
- Third-party makes after technical inspection
- Assessment on-site or via photo documentation
Sourcing for Your Application
No new investment planned, or utilization doesn’t justify one? ATM sources the right used machine for you.
- Search across the ATM network and the market
- Technical suitability check for your process
- Reconditioning included on request
Sale on a Commission Basis
Your machine remains your property — ATM handles the appraisal, technical description and marketing.
- Access to the global recycling market
- Technical listing prepared by ATM experts
- Handling through to handover
Reconditioning · Three Levels
How Much Reconditioning Do You Want to Buy?
Each level is its own offer with its own price and its own warranty — the customer decides. Price goes up, risk goes down: from Level 01 to Level 03, maintenance risk shifts step by step from the customer to ATM.
Bought As Inspected
You take over the machine in the condition inspected. The price is the lowest — the risk is yours.
- Condition as inspected, no reconditioning
- Warranty excluded
- Fastest availability
- For experienced operators with their own maintenance
Defined Repairs
We inspect the machine together, define the scope of repairs and carry them out.
- Scope of repairs agreed jointly
- Warranty on all work performed
- Warranty on replaced components
- Transparent costs per line item
Repair to ATM Standard
The machine is fully reconditioned and receives the ATM Certified Recycling Technology certificate.
- Full reconditioning and complete overhaul
- Wear and spare parts replaced as defined
- Certificate with an operating guarantee
- Industry 4.0-ready on request
| Criterion | Level 01 · As Inspected | Level 02 · Defined Repairs | Level 03 · ATM Standard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Condition at Handover | Unchanged, as inspected. | Specifically repaired within the agreed scope. | Fully reconditioned and completely overhauled. |
| Warranty | Excluded. | On all work performed and components replaced. | Certificate with a guarantee for operating the machine. |
| Wear Parts | In the condition found. | Only the jointly defined items. | All relevant wear and spare parts inspected and replaced. |
| Safety & CE | No assessment by ATM. | Within the scope of the commissioned work. | Safety concept to current standards. |
| Availability | Immediate. | Short lead time depending on scope. | Defined reconditioning time at the ATM plant. |
| Suitable For | Operators with their own maintenance. | Customers with a clear budget. | Customers who want to buy production reliability. |
The Difference: Level 01 sells a machine — Level 03 sells availability. Switching from Level 02 to Level 03 is still possible even after inspection.
Partial Modernization
Used Machine With New Components
Between “as inspected” and a new plant lies the most economically interesting zone: the targeted renewal of individual assemblies. The heavy steel structure is retained and inspected, not replaced — wear and technical aging concentrate on hydraulics, drives, conveying technology and controls.
New Cylinders
Instead of overhauling existing cylinders, new, appropriately sized cylinders are installed — including adaptation of the mounts.
New Hydraulic Power Unit
Modern pump technology and filtration — lower energy demand and significantly better availability.
New Conveying Technology
Feed and discharge conveyors, chutes and handling technology are redesigned and adapted to your process.
New Control System
New PLC, touch HMI and safety technology — the basis for data transparency and Smart Recycling Services.
Result: Productivity close to a new plant, investment well below it — the cylinder, power unit, conveying technology and control assemblies are renewed instead of replacing the whole machine.
Digitalization
Even a Used Machine Becomes Data-Capable
After reconditioning, the existing plant runs in the same portal as a new ATM plant — remote monitoring, live diagnostics and predictive maintenance via app.
IoT Gateway
The ATM Smart Box connects via Profinet, MODBUS or CANBUS — even for third-party and older plants.
Sensors
Pressure, temperature and vibration sensors record the condition of critical assemblies.
Portal and App
Process, condition and energy data come together in the ATM IoT Portal — browser and app.
Predictive Maintenance
Wear is reported before damage occurs — maintenance becomes plannable.
Sustainability
The Double Green Loop Effect
The CO₂ benefit plays out in two stages: during the machine’s overhaul — and afterward, every day in its operation. The base structure remains, only wear parts and technology are renewed. Recycling for the recycling industry.
Market Comparison
ATM Compared to the Used Machinery Trade
The decisive difference lies in merging used-machinery sales with engineering and manufacturing expertise.
| Criterion | Classic Used Machinery Trade | ATM Used Machinery Trade |
|---|---|---|
| Technical Condition | Usually “bought as seen” or only superficially cleaned. | Thoroughly overhauled with a warranty at new-machine level. |
| Flexibility | No or only minimal adaptations possible. | Custom engineering for changed production conditions. |
| Control System & Software | Outdated systems; risk of production downtime due to a lack of spare parts. | State-of-the-art PLC programming including documentation and source code. |
| Risk Minimization | High residual risk regarding wear in hydraulics and mechanics. | Certified safety through in-house specialist departments. |
| Interfaces / Future-Readiness | Hardly any integration options with modern ERP and MES systems. | Industry 4.0-ready through tailored electrical integration. |
| Responsibility | Mediation between seller and buyer. | Overall responsibility for the project — a single source from purchase to commissioning. |
The Customer Benefit: Up to 50% less expensive than a new machine — with comparable productivity, precision and service life.
